The top three seeds dominated their NCAA beach tournaments this past weekend. Top-ranked USC dominated the Outrigger Resorts Aloha Invitational without dropping a match, beating Hawaii twice and also Grand Canyon. Second-ranked Pepperdine triumphed in the inaugural West Coast Conference (WCC) championships, posting wins over Saint Mary's (3-2, 5-0) and Loyola Marymount (5-0). And No. 3 Florida State flew through the first Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) championship, with a 3-2 win over LSU and 5-0 victories over South Carolina, UAB, South Carolina, and Georgia State. The Aloha Invitational featured an expanded field of USC, Hawaii, Long Beach, University of Louisiana-Monroe, Grand Canyon, and Washington. The final win against Hawaii was USC Head Coach Anna Collier's 100th, the first coach to reach that milestone in her sport. The inaugural WCC Championship field consisted of Pepperdine, University of San Francisco (USF), Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, Pacific, Loyola, and Portland. The double elimination format was filled with upsets, as sixth-seeded Loyola defeated third-seed Santa Clara (4-1), and second-seeded USF (5-0). Fourth-seeded Saint Mary's surprised No. 3 Santa Clara (4-1) and No. 2 USF (3-2). In the end Pepperdine restored order in a 5-0 win over St. Mary's. On the other side of the country, Florida State walked away with the first Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) title. Florida State, Georgia State, South Carolina, LSU, Florida Atlantic, Tulane, Florida International, and UAB competed at the LakePoint Sporting Community in Emerson, Ga.
