"The new boom squad is reunited and it feels so good!" said Loomis. "Our record together in the two tournaments that we played together is 11-2 and we're excited to compete deep in the San Fran Open." Women: There were a few upsets in winners bracket play; No. 11 Ali McColloch/Kelly Reeves advanced over No. 6 Angela Bensend/Geena Urango 17-21, 21-14, 15-12. No. 13 Kelly Claes/Sara Hughes upset both No. 4 Jennifer Fopma/Jen Kessy (21-13, 19-21, 15-11), and No. 5 Emily Day/Brittany Hochevar (27-25, 21-15). Just another ho-hum day for the incoming USC seniors, improving the profitability of the AVP, since they cannot accept prize money yet.
