A Terror on the Ice, Gordie Howe Is Remembered as a Gentleman Off It

Howe, who played 25 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings and won four Stanley Cups with them, still holds the record for the most N.H.L. regular-season games played. He died Friday at 88.
