Sports of The Times: Colin Kaepernick’s Anthem Protest Leaves the N.F.L. Necessarily Uneasy

Commissioner Roger Goodell finally weighed in on the protest, saying “I don’t necessarily agree with what he’s doing.” But the N.F.L.’s noncommittal stance isn’t going to end the debate.
