The bid by Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa of Bahrain to succeed Sepp Blatter as the president of FIFA received a big lift when the Confederation of African Football, meeting in Kigali, Rwanda, urged its 54 member countries to vote for him.
