Serena Williams needs the U.S. Open title this year to complete the Grand Slam in tennis, a feat not accomplished since Stefi Graf won all four majors in 1988. Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer are favorites on the men’s side. Play begins Monday, Aug. 31, at the U.S.T.A. Billie Jean King Center in Flushing, Queens.
